These pots are to encourage children to experiment and explore. We know that toddlers are naturally curious and want to find out more.
- You could place things in the pots (age appropriate, safe resources) and use these to start a conversation. Place things inside that stimulate language and discussion.
- Try to follow the child’s interest. The children will enjoy investigating the contents. Depending on their interests they may go and find things to place in the pots and continue to empty and fill them.
- The children may enjoy placing the pots into their corresponding bases. They may equally choose to roll and stack them.
- Let the children access these pots and make discoveries. (The adult can be supportive and know when to intervene and take the play forward).
